The NINDS offers printed materials on neurological disorders for patients and their families, health professionals, and the general public. All our materials are available free of charge for limited quantities. In addition, a PDF version of most NINDS publications is available for download. Please feel free to download the printer-friendly version of any of these resources and make as many copies of it as you wish.

Additional resources about neurological disorders can found in the disorders section of the NINDS website. Spanish-language publications are also available.

Ordering Educational Materials

How can I order NINDS publications? (¿Cómo puedo solicitar las publicaciones del NINDS en español?)

To obtain printed versions of , you can do so by contacting the NINDS information center with the options listed below.

  1. Order online.
  2. Call our English or Spanish toll-free number (800-352-9424) between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), Monday through Friday.

How do I change my order?

If you need to change your order, please contact the NINDS information center (800-352-9424) and provide as much of the following information as you can:

  • The complete name or organization name you used to place the order
  • The complete mailing address you entered for the order
  • The date that you placed the order
  • A telephone number where we can reach you during the day.

When can I expect my materials?

Your order will be processed within 1-2 business days of receipt. In most cases, orders will be shipped via the U.S. Postal Service. For standard shipping, we ask that you allow 7 - 10 business days for domestic delivery and 3 weeks for international delivery.

You may opt to pay for expedited shipping via a credit card, shipping account, or FedEx. For addresses in the United States, you will have this option at checkout. If you have questions or would like expedited shipping to a foreign address, please call 800-352-9424 or online 'Contact Us' form.

Do you ship materials outside the United States and U.S. territories?

People living outside the United States and its territories can order a single copy of up to 10 different publications. Each publication may be freely reproduced with no special permission required.

A PDF version of most NINDS publications is available via the online catalog. Additional materials about neurological disorders can found in the disorders section of the NINDS website. Spanish-language publications are also available. Please feel free to download the information and make as many copies of it as you wish.

If you need copies of additional publications, please contact us with an explanation of how you intend to use the materials and we will consider your request.

Why are there limits to how many publications I can order?

Limits are set to help ensure that the NINDS can provide their educational materials to as many people as possible within the constraints of our inventory and budget. The number of printed copies varies by item and may change depending on our supply at the time of your request.

How can I request quantities of materials above the limit?

Requests for quantities above the limit are considered on a case-by-case basis. You may place an order online with an over limit request form or call the NINDS toll-free number 800-352-9424 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday to place your order and explain how you plan to use our materials.

What if I submit multiple orders online to get the quantity of publications that I need?

We encourage requestors who need large amounts of materials to create one order and complete the over limit request form. You can also contact us directly by calling the NINDS toll-free number 800-352-9424 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. We typically fulfill over limit request orders. If a customer attempts to work around the over limit process, your request may not be filled.
